More New Tech...Google Glass

http://androidroots.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Barack_Obama_with_Google_Glass_picture.jpgIn our continuing series on new technologies, we've now looked at some pretty cool stuff.  One thing that is coming very soon and is more expensive than the other things we've experienced is Glass from Google.

The web link: http://www.google.com/glass/start/what-it-does/ will show you videos on what the experience is like and how it works.  Most of the functions you can already do with your smartphone and a 4G network connection.  The Glass-Factor is that it can be done hands free.

What's the impact?  Maybe you've seen this app for  Iphone and Android called WordLens:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2OfQdYrHRs
It came out in 2010 and people said it was going to change our lives...

Will Glass join the other tech-FAILS... Like the Mattel HoverBoard (That was supposed to be like the Hoverboard used by Marty McFly in the movie, BACK TO THE FUTURE or the Microsoft Surface Tablet. (that came out 2 years after the iPad) or the Google Nexus Q... (the Media streamer that only streamed google content...FAIL)

YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
How can you see Google Glass being used by adults in business or middle schoolers?
Write in the comments (complete sentences)- 5 ways that you see this technology taking off or crashing and burning!!
Don't forget your NAME and CLASS PERIOD!

New Technology and the future

I know that most of you enjoy video games in some capacity, or at least know friends who do play
games often.  In our recent unit, we have had a chance to look into what computer programming is like an how complex it can become.
Recently, some new technology has emerged, with Xbox Kinect and now something called Leap Motion.  Mr. Henn will show you a video that displays some of the capabilities.

Your Assignment:
In the Comments section, write your name, Class period and then write 5 sentences on how you can see this new technology being used in the future.  Only 1 can be related to gaming!!
You can email this if you wish, if you don't want your ideas published on WWW.

Superbowl...Alternate Ending

It's no secret, the team I wanted to win last night fell short.  But, it came down to the wire. Some might even say that they were one bad call away from putting a great upset in the history books!

Today's blog comment is to write an alternate ending to last nights "Big Game", as if you were a sportswriter.
The power outage was weird, do you think it was aliens? mobsters from the 1930's who traveled through time? The clumsy janitor? Bane from Batman?

Here are some sites where you can get some ideas:

Post your ideas in the comments or send me an email.
